You will need a compression bolt to fit your new fancy and lightweight carbon forks (for example those from Bombshell), especially if they have a carbon steerer. Do not use a star nut with forks with a carbon steerer! This does the job, allowing you to tighten your forks with confidence. This will only fit forks with a 1-1/8" steerer not forks with a 1" steerer.
Description
A compression plug is used to attach your fork (usually carbon) to your headset to ensure a tight headset and stem. Simply slot the compression plug into your 1-1/8" steerer tube and add your choice of headset cap and tighten up. Then tighten up your stem. Star nuts should not be used with carbon forks that have a carbon steerer tube.
This compression plug is is made of stainless steel screw and aluminium alloy.
