This is an adhesive tape not a nylon strip so will bond with your rim. You start just past your valve hole, do a full rotation, cover over the join an inch and then trip the excess tape off. The benefit of an adhesive rim tape is it will not move when fitting your tube and tyre, which can sometimes happen with nylon strips.

A nylon adhesive-backed rim tape that gets stuck to the rim to protect your tube from the spoke holes.
Each roll of tape is long enough to fit up to a 24-inch rim and is easily trimmed to fit a 20-inch.
